Along the same lines, why isn't VM being downplayed as
inferior to Realist format?

Because there are too many considerations beyond sheer size.

As for me, I'd like to have a few personal VM reels, a good
VM viewer, a few examples of MF with a good viewer,
and do all my work in 35mm.
