Speaking truthfully and pragmatically, do you think
the "exception" I left out of his quote is substantial
in numerical percentage terms? Even in his quote, as
I interpret it, the "making your own" part was but an
exception to the general rule (which is what I spoke to).
What if I were to say that I'm upset that people seem to equate
5P stereo with realist-format stereo cameras, it's true that
the correspondence is under 100%, but it'd be fairly high. With
MF, the percentage probably is lower with talented folk like
yourself, and those who use slide-bars w/MF 2D cameras (I've a
Yashica 124 that I got for that purpose, but haven't used it
for 3D, I tend to like images where the subject moves).
Of all the people doing MF stereo now, what percentage are using
a sputnik? My complete WAG is that it'd be way above 50%,
although I'd infer from your comments that it'd be way under.
I obviously don't really know, but I'm curious... I may be
way off base.
