True, the adaptor ring is a flat disk with series V threads in thecenter and outer threads to match the camera's filter size. Alignment of the unit on the camera body is done by eye-balling. There is a slip collar that allows free rotation after everything istightened. You simply sight along the bottom of the camera and alignthe adaptor to point straight downward.
