Be sure to observe the action first. If the lab person doesn't handle
the film with gloves, or cleans it off with a dry rag or his/her fingers
as I've seen locally, run, don't walk out of the nearest exit.
I had one "knowledgeable" kid grab the 65 year old negative I was
handing him (b/w) for printing, in the middle of the neg. When I
vociferously protested, his reply was "trust me, I've been doing this
for years, if there are any smudges we clean them off". Sure! I removed
the neg. from his grubby hands and did run quickly out of the "lab",
never to return :-(
