Good idea! I would only worry a bit about alignment because you will
then push the RBT mount on one side mainly. When I have a vertical
error greater than the RBT pins can compensate for, I usually switch
to free-hand mounting (mount on chip, then free-hand align the other).

I am not sure I get this. There is plastic all along the top and you
can hold it from the center. (Note that the widest RBT mount that
you need is 31.5mm, not 33mm because the widest Spicer mount
is 31.5mm)
If you turn the jig upside down, how can you align it? There is
no edge to hold onto the "corner" of the Spicer mount?
