I've recently started to experiment with stereo shots of UV fluorescing items
also. So far, I haven't done too well with naturally fluorescing minerals,
many of which come from Franklin, New Jersey, a locality near me. The rocks
look dramatic to the unaided eye, but emit too little light to photograph
easily. However, I've had great success with ordinary items painted with
special UV sensitive paints. Either way, the key seems to be to bathe the
area with as many "black light" tubes as you can possibly arrange, and
bracket like crazy.
