John, this is not a direct answer to your question. However, if you have not
read the series of 'Twin SLR Stereo' articles in Stereoscopy (Part 1 was
published last September) it is worth reading now.

Ideally you would have read this before making your purchase. The series
mentions various Ricoh & Pentax SLRs. The article mentions the Pentax MZM,
but as cameras seem to be given different designations in different markets
I do not know if the MZM is the same as the ZX-M. Someone on this list is
sure to know.
