Actually, I can. I have never liked this idea. Stereo requires that each
view match perfectly. NO ONE and guarantee that this will happen when 2
AF Cameras are used. As for the idea that if you are in a hurry you can
just press a button.... why worry about being in a hurry? I think truly
great stereo, for the most part requires paying attention to every
detail. Focus, DOF, exposure. There are exceptions, but quite frankly,
much of what I see these days - stereo or 2D, is not that great. Many
"Great" images are run of the mill and pedestrian.
