[photo-3d] MF stereo

Here's a question. Could you take stereo pairs in a medium format
camera, cut the negatives apart, mount the negative pairs on a sheet of
glass and make contact printed stereocards for a stereoptican that would
still be worth viewing?? And if so would anyone have a clue about image
spacing and determining the stereo window. (and making a mounting jig,
or is this already out there somewhere but I just have never ran into
it?)
