Dr. T writes: "One might claim that the best through-the-viewer
presentation of a stereo slide is done with aluminum
mounts where the edges are always sharp. And glass
over this mount protects the artwork better. Any
comments on that?"
Well, I've never tried those......don't know where to buy them, even. But
do they have registration pins like the RBTs? Can I open them up and adjust
the chips without breaking tape or adhesive? If not, they don't sound so
advantageous. And I guess I worry about dropping them and breaking the
glass--yuck! But without a doubt, they would look great and protect well.
How much are they?
As for your question on what percentage am I mounting each way, as I
mentioned I started out exclusively with cardboard mounts (spicers, heat
seals). I am now opening up over half of those and moving the chips to
RBTs. As for my most recent shots, about 65%-75% go in RBTs to start with.
