I enjoyed the long reply to "Gave up on Kodachrome"

To use a common P3D technical term: "Yuck" - Who wants to shoot in bright
sunlight all the time? (or ever...) My favorite time to take pictures is
sunset or sunrise and the 30 minute period just before or after. In these
conditions faster film is invaluable, especially if you want to have smaller
apertures for more depth of field, or faster shutter speeds for non-blurry
action. I hope Kodachrome is never discontinued. To my eyes it has a
unique character and even though I usually use faster E6 films, I'm glad to
have it as an option. If Kodachrome is ever pulled from the market, I'm
certain that shortly thereafter "Kodachrome" simulation plug-ins will be
available for Photoshop. Seriously. There are several turntable simulation
plug-ins currently on the market to make digital audio sound more like
scratchy old records. perhaps there would be a "bad Kodak processing"
option in the plug-in which could delay the digital images for a week, lose
20% of them and randomly scratch the others. Jim Harp
