Even after hanging a roll with a heavy weight for a day or two,
I've had chips start to curl in a sorting box before I mounted
them all. I think humidity must be an important factor? Isn't
there differential expansion and contraction between the
emulsion and base according to the relative humudity? I've
mounted curly chips in glassless RBTs (they're held flat when I
set the window), but when I've undone such mounts, months
later, the chips just sit there flat as can be. I keep slides in de-
humidified storage near 50% RH, so perhaps they just relax
over time.

Like the old joke about how many of Bill's minions (or MS
engineers) does it take to change a light bulb?
Answer: None! Gates just declares darkness the new
standard...
