I can't speak for stereo judging, but with other pursuits of mine, judges
can't enter any competitions, period. It makes since that if a judge wins
(and deserves to win because his/her work is better), it still sends a
bad message to the rest of the members. I think you would find very few
examples of competitions where judges are allowed to enter. Heck, with
most contests you see, employees and members of an employee's family are
not allowed to enter. The reason? It sends a bad message.

Perhaps everyone in the club could be the judge on a rotating basis. This
would be very fair and give everyone a chance to participate. If you are
a judge all the time, you can't enter.
