<< Just curious, have you ever lost anything? Or is this
nervousness just a personality issue? I am asking
because someone like yourself has obviously sent
and received hundreds if not thousands of packages
in the mail by now.>>
In response to this question - It is a little of both. In addition to the
personality isue, there have been some disturbing incidents in the mail over
my years of sending and receiving 3D items. The Chinese Aet Set was sent to
me UPS COD in two boxes - the COD box arrived, but the other box never did.
Since it was replacable - the insurance covered the replacement - but what if
it was an irreplacable item?! Walter Sigg sent me a large order of Lestrade
and Brugierre cards, and they were insured. After 4 months and no package,
Walter collected the insurance money. A month later it arrives - 5 months in
all - and the postmarks indicated it was sent to France!!! Lestrade and
Brugierre - France - WEIRD!!!! Walter actually returned the insurance money
to the Post office - I feel the aggravation and forms which were filled out
were worth the insurance money. Even my postal clerk said he should have
kept the money. Once a package from Dalia sent Fed Ex was misdelivered. The
recipient was honest and I got my package. 3D cards from Jim Harp - who
lives 45 minutes from me - took 3 weeks to get to me. Once a package was
sent back to the sender stamped "no such address" when my correct address was
clearly typed on the package. Insured packages (over $100) are often left by
my door. There are other stories and, granted, no real serious losses - and
all over a 20 year period, and I know others have had their losses and
problems - but every time I am expecting an important package - I worry. So
maybe it is more of a personality issue - who knows. Anyone else have any
stories to tell?
