Presumably these field sequential "attachments" can be used with any
camcorder.

However, one consideration (very important for stereo videography) is the
angle of coverage it will accept.

If the zoom lens on the camcorder is set for too wide a wide-angle, the
sides of the image will be cropped or cut off by the inside walls and edges
of the optical field of the device.

What is too wide? Depends on the camcorder. The physical design of a
specific camcorder and lens will be such that the unit can be mounted closer
to the nodal point of the lens on some models than on others, allowing for a
wider viewing angle (shorter minimum focal length) on some than on others.

Does anyone in the group work in a video store or otherwise have access to
several different camcorder makes and models? It might be useful for anyone
anticipating purchase of one for stereo imaging to know just which ones
permit the widest acceptance angle (shortest focal length) when fitted with
one of these attachments.
