[photo-3d] Nu-View as Video Beamsplitter?

I'm researching two stereo-video options, the Nu-View adaptor and a 
beamsplitter product sold at http://www.3dquarium.com.

I'm wondering the the Nu-View can be used alternately as a 
beamsplitter by simply not connecting the electronics.

Anyone have one?
