[photo-3d] self running ektagraphics

Hi:
End of November I want to put on a little stereo slide show here. My
friend Jordan Patkin has a pair of ektagraphic AF2 projectors that each
have an automatic timed advance feature. They also each have a socket for
attaching a remote advance focus controller.
Is there any way to get these to automatically advance (unattended show)
AND stay synchronized? We tried connecting the two projectors with a
"splitter" cable (which connects two projectors to one remote controller),
and they just went bananas, advancing slides willy nilly (so you couldn't
even use the cable for its intended purpose!).
I was hoping one could set one of the projectors to auto advance, and then
use some kind of electrical connection to have this one projector advance
trigger the second projector.
Can anyone here offer any help?
THanks
Boris
