When we discuss how to repair Bakelite, and other plastics, it is
important to remember that some products were also manufactured of
Celluloid. So before any work is done on plastics, understand that some
are highly flammable. Bakelite is the most common old plastic you will
find, but Celluloid also can be found. Celluloid is Cellulose Nitrate and
it is an explosive.

I went to the link and looked at the viewer. I am sure it is Bakelite
because of the item, the polished surfaces and the broken areas.
