I looked at this Java solution briefly several months ago, but haven't gone 
farther for two reasons:
+   It looks like it would be tough to implement on the HTML side.  I use 
Netscape's free "Composer" to generate my HTML.  I think I would have to 
insert all of the <APPLET> tags by hand in notepad.  I currently add 10-30 
flat images to my personal pages per month.  I would like to be able to add 
stereos to the flats without adding significantly to my work load.  (And 
I'm not sure I could get funding from the house-finance-committee for a 
fancier HTML editor that directly supports applets.)
+   It does get in the way of being browser independent.  My readers 
shouldn't have to install a new browser to read my pages.

I guess if it didn't look like so much work to code, I would include it as 
an alternative way to view the images.  I don't see it as an "only" 
solution, though.
