[photo-3d] stereoscopes

I'm going to dabble a bit with stereo print cards, side by side. The little
$4 or $5 lens thingies you hold in front of your eyes just don't make the
cut in my opinion. What's the next step up in optical quality, but still
keeping the cost low?

I am aware of the Holmes stereoscope kits being offered. They're still a
little more than I wanted to spend, even in kit form, but I'm considering
the possibility at any rate. Anyone have feedback on how easy or hard they
are to put together? (Keep in mind that when I was a kid, the kit cars that
people gave to me got assembled by glueing the body to the chassis and the
wheels to the wheel wells, forget about all those other parts. In other
words, I'm not too skilled or patient with lots of little pieces.)

I'm hoping there's something I've missed in between the kits and the really
cheap viewers I've tried.

Thanks for your input.

Best regards,

Michael Galazin
