[photo-3d] Slide scanners, HP PhotoSmart scanners

That's interesting. I had some images that I wanted a better quality scan
than I thought I could get from my original HP PhotoSmart so I sent the
roll in for a Kodak PhotoCD scan and I didn't find the results to be any
better than what I can do at home. My main complaint had always been lack
of detail in the dark shadow areas and "noise" patterns in the same dark
areas.
Will all of this information be presented in a faq somewhere? I've thought
of getting a new slide scanner, preferably something with the digital ICE
dust and scratch removal software. The problem has been knowing which
scanners would scan Realist mount slides without un-mounting them, or what
physical modifications would be required.
