The movie camera is dollied parallel to the scene, similar to producing
a pulfrich video. In some cases a minimal amount of convergence is
acceptable, but not required. Since you have control of exactly what
frames to freeze and shoot, assuming the movie cameras shutter speed is
fast enough to obtain a sharp freeze frame image, the base is determined
by the 2 freeze frames selected.......this offers infinite base
seperations to choose from.
The SLR photographing the monitor should NOT be shifted. Why would you
shift the camera? ( unless the television frame were included in the
photo) The window can be set by mounting in a reduced size mount
allowing flexibility for window placement. In summary:
A dollied movie camera, a fixed SLR, sharp still images, slow shutter
speed on the SLR to record NTSC signal, and cropping out the TV chassis
( unless the TV is included in the photo) then the amount of shift is
determined by the distance of camera to TV chassis. Bruce?
