If I understand the situation, Grant has communicated with the man who
bought the camera, explained the mistake, tried to make an arrangement
that would get the camera back while giving the guy some consideration for
his minimal trouble - I assume Grant would be prepared to make good on the
$50, and then some.

Any decent human being would accept Grant's offer, considering the
circumstances.

Legality isn't the issue.  For this man to keep the camera, knowing what
happened, would be contemptible.  I'm amazed and deeply saddened at the
number of "regular" folks who seem not to understand this.  George is
right; let's hope he grows up and sees the light.
