I would do my own tests to answer this, instead of
relying on the manufacturer's specifications.  I would
derive a voltage/current curve for each bulb by increasing 
the voltage and measuring the current.  It is quite possible 
that the bulbs have nearly identical curves, with 2.5V/0.83A
and 2.8V/0.85A being two points of this curve.
