Mark,
When I roll the film sprocket inside my camera I find that it also
continues to roll without stopping unlike the Realist which clicks to a
stop. This is normal. As the film is being advanced, the film sprocket
operates a latch that locks the film wind wheel at the right of the
camera. Your wind wheel should ratchet-click as you advance the film.
Make sure that your rewind lever on the bottom is in the proper position.
It is spring loaded away from the rewind position. Try this. Open the
back and advance the film sprocket by hand and at the same time advance
the film wind wheel. The wind wheel should lock as the sprocket revolves
one revolution. The sprocket gear tension varies during each revolution
because you are cocking the shutter with that motion. If the rewind
lever on the bottom is stuck and your rewind wheel doesn't ratchet-click,
then it won't click-stop the film. I hope this helps.
