It's important when applying the "Rule of Three Ls" (Left
image shows Less on the Left side) to apply it with respect
to the *nearest* object in the scene.

Here's an ASCII example (view with fixed width font):

   ___________ ___________
   |Far | | Far |
   | Med | | Med |
   | Near| | Near |
   ----------- -----------

In this example it is difficult to directly apply the "Rule of
Three Ls" because the nearest object is at the right hand edge
of the image. But the rule of three Ls can be converted to
read: the left image shows *more* on the right side. In the
example above, we can easily see that the left image does *not*
show more of the characters "Near " on the right side. So even
though LLL is satisfied for the far object, the scene is *not*
entirely behind the window, because LLL is not satisfied with
respect to the nearest object. This is similar to what happened
with some of Gary's images at 3dgary.com. LLL was satisfied
for most of the objects, but not necessarily for the nearest
object, which sometimes was at the right edge of the image.

Note the above is an example of "through the window" mounting.
Here is the same image converted to "window violation" by
cropping differently:
   ___________ ___________
   | Far | | Far |
   | Med | | Med |
   | Ne| | Nea|
   ----------- -----------

This second example cannot be viewed properly in 3D because of
the window violation.
