Last Tuesday we had our regular monthly OSPS meeting.

Our guest was Albert Sieg. Al has been a stereo photographer
for over 40 years and he is currently the world's leading stereo
exhibitor with over 1800 stereo slides accepted for exhibition.
He is currently the President of PSA. In addition to his glorious
stereo career, Al worked for Eastman Kodak where he held
the post of Vice President in the USA and President of Eastman
Kodak Japan.

Al presented 7 short sequences, from exotic places all over
the world, from Antarctica to wild life in Africa. The great stereo
photography was supplement by very interesting narration and
a question and answer period. We saw pictures taken with
cameras ranging from a Stereo Realist, to a twin SLR rig with
800mm lenses in separate tripods, aligned with laser beams.
We heard how Al would rather carry 60 pounds of camera
equipment than food to eat, during some of his trips.

The second part of our meeting was a regular stereo slide
competition "Nature - no hand of man". Al Sieg was one
of the three judges and commented on all entries. A great
educational experience!

Even though some of our regular members were not able to
attend due to sickness, we still had over 30 people and added
a new member to our group. We also had a visitor from
Brazil. He said that this was his second stereo meeting.
The previous one was 10 years ago in Paris France.

Coming up: April 21 is the judging of the 1st OSPS Stereo
Exhibition and May 1 we will show the accepted entries in
our regular monthly meeting.

Comments about the RBT projector follow in the next
posting.
