[photo-3d] RBT projector - club test

I must admit that the use of my new RBT stereo projector
in our club meeting (for the competition) was a near
disaster, but the fault is entirely mine, not the projector's.

First, the autofocus was not working. So we had someone
focus, not just both lenses but each lens individually, which
was a problem.

As it turns out, in order for the system to work, you must
focus the first slide manually (by turning the lenses). Once
the first slide is focused correctly, the autofocus system
maintains focus by monitoring the changes of the film plane.
The mistake that I made was that I focused the first slide
using the remote. My only excuse is that I never had an
autofocus projector in my life. The projector manual could
be a little bit clearer on this issue too.

The second problem was that one slide did not fall from
the tray. We had to interrupt the competition, check if
the slide was indeed there. Try a second time. Same
problem. Interestingly, this was an RBT mounted slide!

I would like to dissect this slide to see what causes the
problem... My guess is that the slide had not been
"squeezed" so it was extra thick. (After you close the
RBT halves, you must squeeze them to close the
mount properly).

The majority of the competition slides were
in cardboard mounts and there was no problem.

The way around this issue to test the tray before starting
the competition: Put the slides in the tray. Load the tray
in the projector. Put the lens caps on. Advance through
the tray to make sure that every slide falls (the light
comes on - if it remains dark then the slide had not fallen).
If everything works well then it will work well again.

I believe that with the autofocus working and the tray
tested, everything will work fine. People commented
on how bright the projector is.

I must congratulate our members for their mounting skills.
The vertical and horizontal adjustment of the projector
remained fixed (AS THEY SHOULD!) and I did not
see even the slightest hint of misalignment.
