I haven't shot with a Kodak yet, but every roll from the stereo
cameras I've used, current production or decades old, has
required vigilance when mounting. There may be a number of
shots in a row that have practically identical vertical
registration, but there are almost always exceptions within a
roll. Afterall, we're talking fractions of a millimeter. Even if the
film path were extremely well constrained in the camera (a la
the Iloca Rapid), there are probably slight variations between
film companies. A few hundredths of a millimeter's difference
could result in significant savings for a manufacturer over the
long haul, and perhaps still be "within spec". However, no
matter which film is used, there's usually some degree of play
within a given camera's film guides, not to mention a certain
degree of slop in cartridge positioning and the film take-up
spool. A system with *no* vertical drift would be amazing.
