Approaching 35mm film resolution maybe, but what about medium format? I
will be thrilled when any digital imaging technology can match the
experience of viewing a sharp MF slide in a Saturn viewer, but I'm not
holding my breath.

I don't agree, unless you're referring to small runs of expensive custom
built devices. Since the Nimslo failed at great expense in the 80s have any
major manufacturers attempted to market, or even shown the tiniest glimmer
of interest in stereo cameras? In any event many current digital camera
designs seem ideal for twinning, although I'm still not clear on how
accurately they can be synchronized.
>My hope is that people in the stereo world pick up and use digital more.
I mostly shoot slides and use hi-res scanning, Photoshop and either the Fuji
Frontier system or my Epson 750 to make prints. Even without owning a
digital camera I find digital technology indispensable.
