Fifty years after its completion, the complex of buildings designed by
Frank Lloyd Wright for Johnson Wax remain a compelling example of the
architect's mastery of structure and space. The subtle qualities of this
profound work can be revisited in "Johnson Wax: the Wright Buildings," a
packet of 21 full-color three-dimension photographs on three
View-Master® reels. Contemporary exterior and interior views of the
administration building and research tower are supplemented by seven
historic images taken by Arthur Drexler in 1952 for an exhibit at The
Museum of Modern Art in New York. Drexler, an enthusiastic stereo
photographer, was Curator of Architecture and Design at MoMA from 1950
until 1987.

Included is an essay on the project by the late design critic and
theorist Reyner Banham. "Johnson Wax: The Wright Buildings" is
published by View Productions under the direction of Michael Kaplan and
Gregory Terry. Michael Kaplan is Professor of Architecture Emeritus at
the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he has taught
architectural design and theory. Winner of the AIA Education Honors
Award in 1991, he is a licensed architect and has lectured and published
widely on cultural aspects of architecture. He is a veteran stereo
photographer; his lecture on the history, theory and practice of
3-dimensional architectural photography has been presented at venues
throughout the United States. Gregory Terry is a graduate of the
University of Tennessee School of Architecture. He received a Master of
Architecture with Graphic Design concentration from North Carolina State
University for a thesis entitled "A Center for View-Master Technology."

Other architectural titles that we carry include Fallingwater and the
Goff Houses.
