[sell-3d] List status and delays

Bob Wier, the owner of the photo-3d list (and the related
lists), placed P3D and Sell-3D on full moderated status the
other day to investigate a spamming incident on Sell-3D.  If
you have observed delays in receipt of messages from these
lists during the past 1-2 days, it is because all posts are
now being reviewed by a moderator before distribution.  

Bob and I have been discussing the spam incident (action has
been taken against the subscriber), as well as the extent to
which posters have been straying from this group's standards
of "good listmanship."  I previously addressed this topic in
a January 2001 P3D message titled "Posting guidelines."  See

With Bob's blessing, I will be posting some rules for "good
listmanship."  The above-referenced "posting guidelines" will
serve as the foundation for the rules.  Posts that ignore the
guidelines will be returned to the author for editing and
resubmission.  (Pending release of this announcement, I have
been doing some editing of non-conforming posts instead of
rejecting them.  That practice will now cease.)

We sincerely regret having to take this measure.  We hope, however,
that all posters will take this opportunity to quickly reform some
accumulated bad habits and make this list a better resource for all
3d photo hobbyists.  Once that happens, the list will return to its
normal status.
