Andrew asks Ray:

I felt that 'breaking' the surface of the screen would help with the
'suspension of disbelief' about there being a monitor screen present.
(People also seem to like a positive parallax experience.)

My images are Realist format, and do not fit the existing computer screen
borders.

Certainly this is all speculation on my part. This week, I will get to try
the experiment, and see how effective it is to my eyes.

The CD-ROM idea is part of a series I'm calling "Magic Window" 'slide
shows'. The first thing you see is a picture frame tumbling through space
from far to near. Finally, it protrudes (just a bit) through your monitor.
Then the show begins.

Theatrical, perhaps, but it appealed to me when I thought of it.
