telescope optics/curved image plane

some Schmidt cameras (a particular kind of reflecting telescopes with a
folded light path) use a curved film plane. There are also various madmen
who have constructed binoculars using Schmidt Cassegrain telescopes with
aperatures up to 8 inches (!). Naturally, they employ some degree of
'hyper' to increase the stereo impression of the heavens. And i suppose they
don't qualify as 'ortho' in any event.
