  A 1.4x TC and a 50 mm lens might be a better combo.
Good quality 50's aren't expensive and 1.4 TC's aren't
really common, but supposedly even a 4 element one
is good enough.

  Plus if you start with a f1.4 lens you still have
an f2 @ 70 mm which is nice for focusing.
