Sounds like one heck of a lot better idea to me.  Is there a
1.4 which is a good match for a 50?  Seems to me teleconverters
come in ranges.  Like for use with lenses under or over 300 mm.
I sure wonder what this would do to distortion.  I really don't
like the idea of incidental distortion and 3D.  Fish eye lenses
are another thing because that's for fun.
