Well, don't forget that Nyquist bit when going from pixels
to resolution. 1280*1024 is equivalent to 640*512 when you
are converting to lines per mm as explained in my earlier
post. 640*512 = 327,680 which I agree is within an order of
magnitude of the 1,382,400 you would get from 35 mm but it
ain't quite there yet.
