In the monitor business, "progressive scan" means that the entire display
(or imager, in the case of a video camera) is scanned in one pass (e.g.
left to right, top to bottom). Basically it means "not interlaced". I don't
know whether this would apply to a still camera (it could, because the pixels
still have to be read out in some agreed-upon order).

Some displays and some imaging systems are "color-sequential" - they image or
display the red, green, and blue as separate fields (one after another) to 
make up the total frame.
