Well the switch I got wouldn't work because it was too tall
for the space at a little over 1/2" tall.  I could have
installed it so it poked out of the baseplate but then I
wouldn't have been able to use a tripod.  I did check it
out closed on loads from 0.1 to 10 mA and found no voltage
drop across it down to 0.1 mV.  So silver contacts seem to
be fine in this instance.  As far as whether installing a
switch will cause a light leak or not, I'm not so sure
anymore so I will be careful.  If I have no luck finding
a switch locally, I think Allied Electronics will get my
business.
