Baffled again by the Russians....

Nope, I have not yet had a response from our friends in Russia.
Yet I was browsing again through their pile of brochures....

Lo and behold II, there is a 4th b&w IR film! It doesn't seem much
different than the first three, this one with a spectral sensitivity
from 800 to 1150nm, with a maximum at 1060nm. EI is 40 Ghost units,
less than the best of the three, but better than the other two. Most
significant difference is the Gamma specification: 1.5 instead of
2.5-4 for the other films. I have not the faintest idea whether that
is good or bad, so I'd like some comments from the darkroom experts
here.

Yet this is not all:
Lo and behold III, they have THREE UV-recording films! Two of them
don't seem suitable outside vacuum chambers (sensitive too far in the
UV, beyond the level available in earth atmosphere), the third one
might be. Doesn't seem to be the slowest film in line either....

Will send those darn Ruskies another fax to clear this thing up.
Darn, why didn't I read this the first time!
Stay tuned!

Willem (I wouldn't know half as much if I didn't reread my archives
frequently) Jan
