RC Papers

I've won 3 blue ribbons and a judge's choice award from PPANJ (Prof. Photog.
Assn. of NJ) and just had a print hang at PPA National (Prof. Photog. of
America), which is the equivalent of a blue ribbon.  All were handcolored
HIE images made on Luminos RC Art paper and printed by Jonathan Penney.

Jonathan, perhaps you could give us a breakdown on what papers your
customers are using for their competition prints, especially infrared images?

Does anyone on the list belong to WPPI, PPA, or a PPA state affiliate?  The
print competition rules of these associations say nothing about the type of
paper the print needs to be on.  I'd say most entries are color prints, on
RC paper, with a gloss spray coating and some very fancy mounting/matting.
But here in NJ a number of people shoot infrared, and they enter RC prints
as well.  Jonathan recommended the Luminos paper to me and I've been
thrilled with it.  It's wonderful to work with for handcoloring.

Some photographers are entering digital prints in these competitions,
printed on watercolor paper by a computer ink jet printer.  So choose the
paper that gives the effect you want, and go with that.
