Red Specks on New EIR slides

I looked at my one roll of EIR slides and noticed that three of the frames have
red specks in them.  All of the specks are visible in areas of blue sky.  They
were very difficult for me to notice, but then I only have a 4x loop to look at
 my slides with.  I also noticed that one frame has very light streaks through
it.The streaks almost look like wood grain.
I took the EIR slides with a B&W yellow IR filter and developed the slides myse
lf in Kodak 7step E-6 processing.

Someone mentioned cross processing EIR.  I have never heard of cross processing
, but it sounds neat.  Perhaps if you tell me how to do it I will give it a try
