Exposure Compensation

Hi,

This is a question I've wondered about for a while but haven't had the
nerve to ask. I'm sure it's a basic question, but I haven't seen it
discussed anywhere and I've only had a very basic photography class.

A lot of things I read for IR suggest starting out using a fixed aperture
and shutter speed. This means that if you have a fancy computerized
camera, you go into fully manual mode. If you then dial in exposure
compensation, do you really get that exposure compensation or are your
manual settings set in stone so that in order to bracket, you have to
modify your manual setting (e.g., the exposure compensation is being
ignored because you're in manual mode)? My guess is that exposure
compensation does work, but I want to verify it. If it helps, I have a
Minolta 700si. Thanks!

Ken
