It should not change exposure on any camera.
The most exp. comp. does is changing the *indication* in the
viewfinder(*) of over/underexposure compared to the values you have
just set by hand, but it will *not* change exposure itself.

(*) depends on brand/model whether this is indeed shown, and how it 
is shown. The old Minolta 9000 showed the actual over/under exposure 
in stops (0.5 stop accurate numbers), on my current EOS-1 it shows in 
1/3rd stops on a bar scale (one of the best features of the EOS 
system IMO).
