For infrared... three spots in the Tucson Area come to mind..

First... The Verde Valley area..  This includes the Verde River, but
particularly the Mission San Xavier... The white stucco walls of the
mission provide great IR reflectivity, under a clear blue sky that IR
can portray as near black, the mission walls have some cacti and palms
surrounding and cresting them providing a nice contrast..  There's also
a ruined mission nearby that is a national historic site... The National
Park Service will have the info...  There's also a spice shop located in
an old wooden structure outside Verde..  Tucson or Verde Valley's
Tourist or Chamer of Commerce offices should be able to refer you to
it...

Second.. Organ Pipe (Cactus) National Monument... Beautiful Sonoran
Desert imagery.. One of a kind Cacti...

Third, in Tucson proper, there is a Desert Botanical Garden/Experiment
Station...
