I have yet to see problems with HIE when going through airports.  I haven't been
to East Europe or the Middle East, where I would expect there would be
problems.  However, in the US and UK I'd just let them X-Ray them.  No problem. 
Also, you don't raise suspicion and have the problems with them wanting to open
things up.

I haven't tried moving HSI through the machines, which might cause a problem - I
don't know.
