I am a bit confused by the Hoya RM90....I got one a few months ago,
but despite it's transmission plot, it is not completely opaque to
the eye, not even in daylight....much less opaque than a #87C,
almost at the level of a #88A. Note that this doesn't say much about
what it does on film....it might only 'leak' 1% visible, but still
do a good job on film/video. It just isn't opaque, something one
would expect from an #87A equivalent.

No, I have been pondering about having a batch made, but there is
very little demand for anything above #87C....too expensive for
experiments only, even (more) for me.

But I do have gelatine alternatives in the entire #87 range,
including #87A....US$0.50 pro square centimeter....and absolutely
opaque (even strong lights like a NiCd/Halogen Surefire can't get
through visibly)
