Re: Konica IR ...!st time, hyperfocal focusing, and Stigmata

Hyperfocal distance is the closest distance you can focus on and still have
infinity sharp; depending on my f-stop used, the higher the number (smaller
the aperture) then the closer I could focus the lens, technically.
Therefore, if I focussed not close enough (i.e. not on the infrared mark on
the camera lens which is a bit closer of a focus than the usual focus mark
on a lens) the foreground might be more blurred and the background
sharper....? You are right that the whole image being softened probably
indicates something different, as it should be sharp somewhere in the image
if it is a hyperfocal problem....whatever the case may be, maybe if I
tripodded or didn't blow up the image to 11 by 14....maybe I am too used to
sharpness from 4 by 5 and Tmax and the Konica is just less sharp (?) Do you
use the infrared focusing mark on the lens with Konica or maybe Konica does
not require that and just Kodak does? I don't think I am expressing this
very clearly but hopefully the question is understood..
