Hi Jessie

Welcome to the list! I've been around on the list for 3 or 4 years. I
don't always participate much, but don enjoy all the great info that I
have gleaned during that time.

My first question is who told that a K1000 is unsuitable for IR
photography. I've never owned one but a fully manual camera like that
should be just great for IR photography.

On to your next question. I have both a F100/MB-15 and F90X/MB-10/MF-26
(which is your N90s) combo. Both are great cameras. You wouldn't go
wrong buying either of them. Is the F100 within your budget? If you
bought the F100 could you buy some lenses to go with it? For the same
price you could get a N90S and several lenses! Remember, while it's
cliche to say "a camera is only a light tight box" it is true. It's the
glass that will make or break a photograph. Don't be afraid to direct
the bulk of your money towards lenses.

Having said that, I have to admit I love my F100, it is a beautiful
camera and a pleasure to use. The N90S has been around for almost 6
years now so it probably coming to the end of it's production run in the
somewhat near future. The F100 has been around almost 2 yrs. The N90s is
still selling well so, Nikon will probably keep it around for a while.

On the Nikon list and the Nikon F100 mailing list a lot of people have
complained that the early F100's had some software problems and were
encountering errors. These bodies were from 202xxxx to 206xxxx I think.
But I have had my F100 since April of '98 and it is a 202xxxx serial
number and it have performed flawlessly.

If you have any other question email me, I'd be happy to help you in any
way that I can.

Take care
Terry
