John,
This is interesting. Your mention of oxidation and distilled water brings up
two thoughts as to why I haven't experienced these problems with Xtol. First,
I am on well water and filter it through a whole house filter. So, there is no
chlorine, or other chemical additives other than the normal minerals. Second,
I store my stock solution in Falcon collapsable jugs, the brown plastic ones
that you compress down to the liquid level before capping. I don't dilute the
stock until just before I'm ready to process and only dilute enough for that
run. This may explain my "good luck" with Xtol.
